WHAT'S YOUR DREAM?

It was on my Netflix list for a while and then about four weeks ago it arrived. And it forever changed my life as I watched time and time again, with a big box of Kleenex nearby, the story of a man who lives a life of conscious creation at it's best.

If you've never seen it, run don't walk to get your hands, heart and mind on a copy of the movie Rudy. Just be careful of the last 20 minutes. They rocked my world.

Based on the true story of "Rudy" Ruettiger's life, the practical demonstration of creating the life you love to live is absolutely inspiring. I have found a new hero and, for those who are searching, you may find a great role model.

• It all begins with a dream. Allow your vision to become so real that you can feel it, touch it, taste it, smell it, know it, be it. Dream HUGE!
  
  
• Become clear, definite and specific about what you choose to experience.

In the movie, Rudy announced to his family as a child, "After high school, I'm going to play football for Notre Dame" and his family laughed. He was stepping outside the comfort zone of their limiting beliefs and narrow vision.

• Affirm what you have chosen.

When he left home and went to the campus, he declared to the priest he spoke to, "I want to go to school at Notre Dame." Walking on to the football field, he then went to introduce himself to Coach Ara Paraseghian and set his intention by saying, "I'm here to talk to you about playing football for Notre Dame".

• Make a conscious decision about what is true for you in life, and simply reject any limiting beliefs that will hold you back from success. Remember, in the middle of the word Belief is the word "lie". Not everything you've been taught is true.

In the movie, Rudy explained, "Ever since I was a kid I wanted to go to school here. And ever since I was a kid everyone said it couldn't be done. My whole life people have been telling me what I could do or couldn't do. I've always listened to them, believed in what they said. I don't want to do that anymore."

• Look beyond the illusions of obstacles and roadblocks, and tell yourself a different story that is empowering and that will open the doors wide for you to live your dream. Recognize that true wealth and limitless success does not require money, education, intelligence, talent, or family backing and support. It does, however, require faith, commitment, determination, and belief.

Rudy was 5'6", 175 pounds, didn't have good grades in high school, was dyslexic, and his family and teachers thought he was living in a dream world of fantasy. Nothing held him back from realizing his dream.

• "Play like a CHAMPION today" was the inspiration on the wall from the Notre Dame dressing room to the field. Every day as you go out in the world, BE the person you choose to be.

Against all odds to most conventional thinkers, Rudy moved beyond the lack and limitation thinking of his youth and went on to become a member of the Notre Dame football team. Dressing for the final game of his senior year and leading the team onto the field, Rudy played in the last moments as the crowd chanted his name and he made the final tackle.

Rudy was carried off the field by his teammates after the game. He graduated from Notre Dame in 1976.

• Recognize that as you shift your consciousness and breakthrough old belief barriers, you are opening the way for others to do the same. Be the change that the world needs to see.

Because he demonstrated that it was possible, five of Rudy's younger brothers went to college and graduated with degrees.

• Believe in and endorse yourself. Recognize and acknowledge that you are magnificent. Let go of negative self-talk. Stop telling yourself you "can't" and tell yourself what you "can" do. Remember, it's about moving from "I can't", to "I can", to "I AM"!

"I can do it, coach", Rudy would say when he appeared to be challenged.

As you move out in the world from this moment forward, make the decision that you are playing to win, rather than playing not to lose. Focus your mind, your heart, your energy, your vision, your intentions on what you choose to experience in life.

Know that what you focus on and give emotional energy to is being created in the world around you. Every moment of every day you are manifesting. Know that the Universe is friendly to your plans and is here to support you.
