IS IT TIME FOR YOU TO "COME
HOME"?
Last month I wrote about the power of the music that we listen
to. This month I'm going to dive right in to the power of our mind.
Some of you may remember a show called "Name That Tune" where
contestants would identify a song with just a few notes to win the game!
Now, your mind works that way in all areas of your life,
anticipating "right" answers, completing the stories of your life before
they've played out, recreating experiences and memories based on the very
tiniest pieces of information.
Smells from a bakery, the sound of laughter, a child's hug, a
walk in the woods, a voice raised in anger, a particular look or sound, a
puppy's breath, trigger memories that can take us back in time almost
instantaneously.
You have an incredibly powerful computer that is serving you 24
hours a day whether you're aware of it or not! According to research presented
by Dr. Joe Dispenza, we process 4 billion bits of information every
second and yet our conscious minds are only aware of 2,000 bits of
information per second.
That's a lot of information that we're constantly drawing in
and yet our subconscious minds are collecting the vast majority! So, we are
equipped with a large storehouse of information that we've been gathering over
the years to navigate the world with, to help us survive, and to hopefully
support us in living happy, fulfilling lives.
The TV show Blues Clues was developed based on research that
showed that children learn through stories, that being actively involved in
being able to answer the "clues" was essential, and that the law of
repetition was highly effective because the children could anticipate the
answer before it was asked!
If we are living unconsciously as adults, our subconscious mind
simply takes over by operating from the stories and completions that we learned
through repetition in our early years. In effect, almost with a blink of an
eye, we may find ourselves responding to small signs and signals from the past
that may have nothing at all to do with the situation in front of us in the
present!
Are you ready for something else?
The New York Times published an article that is profoundly
important to us all ("What Other People Say May Change What You See", June 28,
2005). The results of recent brain research, confirming a 1950s study, showed
the powerful need for social conformity. People gave wrong answers to questions
to conform with the responses of their group!
As Dr. Gregory Berns said, "We like to think that seeing is
believing", but "seeing is believing what the group tells you to believe." The
study used brain scanners to show that people who went along with the group on
wrong answers were not making conscious decisions but were making their
decision based on emotions, or their subconscious beliefs.
There is clearly a high cost on an unconscious level for
standing up for yourself. In other words, "the unpleasantness of standing alone
can make a majority opinion seem more appealing than sticking to one's own
beliefs."
The article ended, however, by stating "if people are made
aware of their vulnerability, they may be able to avoid conforming to social
pressure when it is not in their self-interest."
It's important to be aware that what you think, say, or do may
be based on an almost tribal memory or primal instinct to fit in - to belong -
to be part of the group! We all have an inner desire to be "home", feeling
appreciated, accepted, safe, and loved.
And it's also important to remember that in the creative realm,
what you believe is what you see!
It's critical that we become aware of the unconscious
choices we are making in our lives, so that we can become conscious
creators. All change begins with awareness.
So, maybe it's time to "come home" to your Self to discover
what your heart desires, what makes you feel good inside, what makes you happy,
what allows you to express your magnificent, empowered identity in the world.
Maybe it's even time to ask yourself who you're trying to conform with or what
group you're trying to belong to. Maybe it's time to begin to give the answers
that you know are right for you, the ones that resonate with you and that
represent what you consciously know to be your truth. Maybe it's time to honor
your own best interests.
This is the beginning of true freedom. As you do, you release
yourself from the bondage of old thought habits and behaviors that just aren't
working for you anymore, the beliefs that no longer apply. You can let go of
the past and live fully in the present. You can live at choice to mindfully
participate in manifesting the life of your dreams by focusing on what you
truly desire and the gifts you're here to share.
With this power, you can move forward in embracing every day
with confidence, joy, peace, harmony, love, and true freedom as you create your
life of limitless success!
YOU deserve it!!!
To your wealth and success,

Debbie Friedman, C.Ht.

"The freedom we are looking for is the
freedom to be ourselves, to express ourselves. But if we look at our lives we
will see that most of the time we do things just to please others, just to be
accepted by others, rather than living our lives to please ourselves. That is
what has happened to our freedom. And we see in our society and all the
societies around the world, that for every thousand people, nine hundred and
ninety-nine are completely domesticated. The worst part is that most of us are
not even aware that we are not free."

I NEED YOUR HELP TO SERVE YOU BEST!
As those of you who are subscribers know, I have an agreement
to send my newsletter once a month. I respect that you all have busy lives and,
if you're like me, you receive a lot of email every day.
Lately, however, I've been receiving requests for my newsletter
to be sent on a more frequent basis. Before I make any changes, I want to ask
for your opinion to find out what you would like and how I can best continue to
be of service.
Early next week I will be sending out a quick survey to every
subscriber. All you'll have to do is check one of 3 boxes: to keep the
newsletter as a once a month edition, to have a newsletter with much shorter
content sent every other week, or to have a newsletter with much, much shorter
content sent every week.
I certainly want to respond to and honor your needs, and I
value and appreciate your response. I will make any necessary changes based on
the survey results.
If you would like to send me a personal comment before the
survey is released, please just
click here. I will do my
best to respond to every email in a timely manner.
Most importantly, I want you to know that it is an honor and a
privilege to write this newsletter. It is an incredibly joyful experience for
me and I am deeply touched each month by the responses I receive. For me, this
is truly an act of love and I am absolutely blessed to be able to share and
connect with you all in this way.
Thank you all for being such an amazing gift in my life!

"So, from this moment on, never, ever
accept reality as something to which you must resign yourself. Take your
thoughts beyond whatever is in front of your nose that you don't like and put
them on what you do like. If you don't, your so-called reality will never
change. Granted, some ugly things may be glaring you in the face right now, or
threatening you, or looking like a hopeless situation, but they are not set in
stone! They must never be reluctantly tolerated."
