ARE YOU PLAYING THE MUSIC OF YOUR
LIFE?
Each week when I begin my workshops, I play a different song to
emphasize the importance of music in our lives. Just as what we think, say, and
do creates the experience of our lives, so too do the conscious choices that we
make with music.
What we listen to is vital to the life we are creating. Many
people feel overwhelmed with the negative, critical voices in their heads,
people around them who are complaining or gossiping, or some particular event
that has let them down. While we may not have control over all the
circumstances of our lives, we can choose what we pay attention to and what we
surround ourselves with. What we choose to listen to can literally make a world
of difference.
Music is made for manifesting. As you hear the beginning notes
of a favorite song, reminding you of a particular time in your life when you
were full of love, hope, strength, accomplishment, or freedom, your mind
automatically recreates a vision of that time, your body responds on a cellular
level, and your emotions transform your experience in the moment.
Instantaneous. Automatic. Effortless. For fun and for free.
I've talked often about vibrations. It's important to emphasize
that scientific research and studies have now documented the effects of music
on our bodies, lives, and beliefs. As we raise our spirits we are literally
raising our vibration. And the level we vibrate at is what we vibrate to. What
we vibrate to is what we will attract into our lives. Like attracts
like.
In Power vs. Force Dr. David Hawkins explains the
significance of higher and lower "attractor fields", or vibrations, and how we
all can effectively raise our power to attract to us positive experiences in
life. By raising our vibration, we move into a realm that allows us to use our
natural powers, rather than relying on the need to try to "force" life to
happen. In his 29-year study, Dr. Hawkins demonstrated that the human body
becomes stronger or weaker depending on a person's mental state, reflected by
their vibration. As he writes, "Music is in some ways the most subtle of the
arts, for it's the least concrete. However, in bypassing left-brain rationality
to appeal directly to our subconscious right-brain sense of pattern, it's at
the same time the most visceral and emotional. It also provides the easiest
example of how attractor patterns order reality. . .".
Dr. Masaru Emoto has spent years documenting the effect of what
we think, say, and do on the crystalline structure of water molecules. Positive
emotions create beautiful crystals while negative emotions create amorphous
blobs that resemble polluted water. Dr. Emoto has studied the effects of music
on the quality of water molecules and found that "Amazing Grace" is one of the
songs that create the most beautiful crystalline structures. In contrast, heavy
metal and rap music creates the blobs that are associated with polluted bodies
of water. (For more information on Dr. Emoto and his work, visit
www.hado.net.)
Water is the "molecule of life". Considering we human beings
are approximately 75% water, this research is incredibly relevant. Do you
choose to have polluted water or pristine crystals running through your veins?
My friend, Craig White, has created a series of CDs that are
used for Music Therapy. Studied by the Mayo Clinic, his works are now being
used in major healthcare chains in California because they have been shown to
increase healing rates and reduce post-surgical recovery times. (For more

In our language we speak of desiring "harmony" in our lives,
and if we are presented with something that feels correct we may find ourselves
saying that "it rings true" for us or that we "resonate" with it. Music is
known to "soothe the savage beast" and we are probably all aware of the "mood
machines" that offer a variety of the sounds of nature to help us ease into a
peaceful sleep.
So, just as you consciously choose the words you use, the
stories you tell yourself, the visions you hold, the way you respond to life as
it unfolds, I encourage you to begin to choose to support yourself with music
for your life.
Music that inspires you. Music that makes you feel strong,
competent, capable, invincible. Music that recreates feelings of loving and
being loved. Music that makes your spirit soar with delight and joy. Music that
will lift you up to your highest potential for passion, freedom, success, and
prosperity.
Maybe there's a particular song that was playing when you got
married or fell in love, when you received an important award, when you
celebrated the birth of your child, or simply a song that makes you feel really
good inside. Choose music that reminds every cell of your body of the feelings
of prosperity and success and love and incredible ecstatic joy!
Here are some of the songs that I like to share with my
groups.
"Gonna Fly Now", more commonly known as the Rocky Theme from
the series of Rocky movies, may fill you with strength, power, and a feeling of
victory. Or perhaps it brings to mind, as the story goes, that Sylvester
Stallone was down to about $50 in his pocket in New York City when he wrote the
screenplay for the original movie in 3 days and then held to his vision by
refusing to sell the rights until he could play the title role.
The theme song for the movie Titanic, "My Heart Will Go On",
may remind you of the story of a woman who chose to break free from a life of
oppression to live the life of her dreams with passion. The song might also
remind you that this was the most expensive movie ever made at $200 million and
still holds the record as the #1 lifetime grossing film.
The theme song from the Harry Potter movies may inspire you to
feel playful, reminding you of the magic and miracles of life and the
extraordinary potential we all have to step into our power. On the other hand,
you might also be subtly reminded of the author, J.K. Rowling, who created the
passion of her life while she was on social welfare and then was catapulted to
fame and fortune almost instantly. Said to be richer than the Queen, her net
worth has been estimated to be over $1 billion.
Or maybe your heart jumps for joy with the theme song from the
movie Flashdance, "What A Feeling", sung by Irene Cara. You might remember the
powerful scene as a welder moved into her dream of becoming a professional
dancer. As you listen to the song, you might also be inspired by the words: "I
can have it all. I can really have it all. What a feeling! I can have it all.
Please believe it. Take your passion and make it happen!"
On the path of being a dynamic, powerful creator you might
choose to tap into "I Believe I Can Fly" by R. Kelly with the words: "There are
miracles in life I must achieve, but first I know it starts inside of me. If I
can see it, then I can be it. If I just believe it, there's nothing to it. Oh,
cause I believe in me. If I can see it, then I can do it. I believe I can fly.
I believe I can touch the sky. I think about it every night and day, spread my
wings and fly away. I believe I can soar. I see me runnin' through that open
door. I believe I can fly!"
In the creative realm, you have the right and the
responsibility to make conscious choices that will support you in living the
life of your dreams. Choose powerfully and positively to vibrate at a level
that will attract to you all that is rich, loving, joyful, abundant, healthy,
and fun with great ease and flow!
YOU deserve it!!!
To your wealth and success,

"Music is a powerful ally on your spiritual
path, as it serves to boost your manifestation powers. Music is part of the
invisible realm, and is of a higher frequency than that of the physical plane.
It wraps us in a protective shield to guard us from negative energies. It also
lifts our emotions and thoughts to joyful levels. . . Use music as a
manifestation tool."
