Issue Date: February 20, 2004
INSIDE THIS ISSUE:
> BELIEVE IN YOUR DREAMS!
> ARE YOU READY TO EXPERIENCE THE MAGIC OF MANIFESTING?
> SHOW WHO YOU TRULY ARE
A
special note to begin:
I am dedicating this issue to my dad, Morris Houlette. Not just
because this is February, the month identified with love, but
because I want him to know how grateful I am that he is on my
team. He may not have always understood the driving forces behind
my passions, he may not necessarily agree with the ideas I express,
but he has always been delighted that I am following my dreams.
You see, he believes. He believes in me. And he loves that I write
this newsletter each month. There's few things better than to
hear his chuckle on the phone telling me that he's amazed that
I do this. To share a little story with you, one time he waited
until we were alone, looked at me very seriously, sat me down
at the kitchen table, and said he needed me to be honest with
him. Then he said, "Now tell me the truth - do you really write
all of that yourself?" (In case you're wondering, the answer is
Yes!). So, Dad, thank you for your love and support. Thank you
for believing in me. Thank you for being who you are. Thank you
for playing in my field of dreams. I love you, Dad. This one's
for you…
BELIEVE IN YOUR DREAMS!
I
went to see the movie "Miracle" the first weekend it came out.
Not once, but twice. I loved it. The Dream, the Vision, the Commitment,
the Determination, the Spirit. Most of all, I loved the message:
BELIEVE.
Believe
in the possibilities of life. Believe in yourself. Believe that
your dream, too, can come true.
Believe
that you deserve to have the very best life has to offer. Believe
in the wonderful giving nature of the Universe. Believe that the
Universe wants you to have everything you desire. Believe in miracles.
The
truth is that I loved the movie because it took me on a wonderful
ride back to a time when everything seemed possible. It also took
me back to the early morning (4 and 5 a.m.) ice hockey practices
for my son, when we were willing to do whatever it took to let
him live his dream and passion. Kurt Russell was there, too, at
the Culver Ice Rink with his son.
It
all begins with a dream, a vision of excellence. Then focusing
your attention on that vision until it becomes so clear that you
can see it, feel it, taste it, touch it, smell it, know it. Along
with that vision, taking the consistent actions with commitment
and determination to bring your dreams into reality. And, then,
expecting the miracles to happen.
I
don't want to spoil the movie for those of you who haven't seen
it, but let me just say that each person prepared themselves mentally,
emotionally, physically, and spiritually. They didn't let disappointments
or challenges stand in their way. They were willing to do whatever
it took to reach their dreams.
And
the miracles happened….
This
last weekend I watched the movie "Field of Dreams". Not once,
but twice. I was drawn to see it, even though I've seen it so
many times before. I knew there was a message for me that I must
have missed.
The
tag line for the movie, in case you don't know, is "If you believe
the impossible, the incredible can come true."
And
incredible it was. Following the words he heard "If you build
it, he will come" Kevin Costner's character, Ray Kinsella, plowed
under his corn fields to build a magnificent baseball field. He
knew that Shoeless Joe Jackson was going to come. He expected
the miracle.
And
he waited. Sometimes I think we forget that miracles don't always
happen over night, that sometimes we have to wait for our dreams
to come true. In spite of obstacles, financial difficulties, the
doubts and disbelief that others expressed, Ray held on to his
vision. He held on to his dream and was willing to take the actions
he was guided to.
In
the end, Ray's own father was the one who came to the field so
that Ray could have a "catch" with his Dad one more time. That
precious moment that had been Ray's true, underlying dream was
finally fulfilled.
Ray
asked his father "Is there a heaven?" His father answered, "Oh,
yeah…it's where dreams come true."
This
was the piece I'd missed before in the movie. And yet, I've often
wondered what if this really is heaven on earth? What if anything
and everything was possible if we just believed and were willing
to follow our passions?
This
IS the time to believe in your dreams, to believe in the limitless
possibilities of life, to believe in yourself, to believe in miracles.
Stop
paying attention to the "What If's" that always take you to the
bottom of the elevator, the ones that have paralyzed you and killed
your dreams in the past. Those are old beliefs grounded in lack
and limitation thinking, what we call poverty consciousness. You
don't want them and you don't need them.
Instead,
choose to play a different game and consider this possibility:
What if this IS heaven on earth and you have the ability to create
your life based on what you choose to think and do. What if everything
in the Universe was available to support you so that you can live
the life of your dreams?
This
month, get in touch with your dream and your vision. Spend time
focusing on your vision so that it expands and you can see it,
feel it, taste it, touch it, smell it, know it. Find your team
that believes in you and will support you. Set your goals and
take the appropriate actions. Expect the miracles to happen every
day of your life. Know that you deserve them and that they're
happening for you.
BELIEVE.
With prosperity and blessings,

right thoughts and actions."

SHOW
WHO YOU TRULY ARE
Oh,
this must be movie month. In the movie "Harry Potter and the Chamber
of Secrets" Professor Dumbledore tells Harry, "It is not our abilities
that show who we truly are - it is our choices."
How
profound. How important this is for us to remember. How easy it
is for us to forget when we feel pressured or stressed.
I
have been continually amazed and delighted with the Manifesting
Made Easy workshop groups, and one of the women brought this idea
home to us all last week. She admitted she was feeling sad and
somewhat disappointed with no date on Valentine's Day, and then
she chose to have a different experience.
She
chose to make it a wonderful day and set out in her life showing
kindness, consideration, and gratitude. She smiled at people,
got them shopping carts at the market, and got into the spirit
of joy. She also manifested a dozen red roses from a man she hadn't
dated in almost a year!
The
moral of this story is that we all choose in every moment of our
life. We can choose to turn our day around at any time. We can
choose to create a day of joy, fun, and celebration. Those days,
chosen one at a time, turn into a life rich with love, happiness,
and success.
Show
who you truly are and make the choices that count.

"Form a mental picture of yourself as you want
to be, and at the greatest height your imagination
can picture. Dwell upon this for some time, holding
the thought 'This is what I really am; it is a picture
of my own soul. I am this now in soul, and I am becoming
this in outward manifestation.'"
- Wallace D. Wattles, The Science of Becoming Excellent
